Sexual Harassment

In this section following subjects can be reported on:

Making inappropriate comments of a sexual nature, spreading sexual rumours, sending unwanted sexually explicit photographs, texts or emails, or creating a hostile climate, in person or through the use of technology. Harassment is also unwanted conduct of a sexual nature which has the purpose or effect of violating your dignity or creating an intimidating, hostile degrading, humiliating or offensives environment.

 

Sexual Violence

In this section following subjects can be reported on:

A sexual act that took place or was attempted without your full consent, or that takes place when you did not have the ability to refuse, for example because you were under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This is not just limited to full penetrative sex, it also includes touching of a sexual nature, and non-physical coercion to perform acts of a sexual nature.

Hate Crime

In this section following subjects can be reported on:

A crime or action that you believe was motivated by hostile or prejudice because of your race, religion, nationality, gender, transgender identity, sexual orientation or disability. A hate crime can include verbal abuse, intimidation, threats, harassment, assault and bullying as well as damage to property.

Cyber Bullying 

In this section following subjects can be reported on:

Sending, posting or sharing negative, harmful, false, or hurtful content about you on social media, by text message, instant messaging or email. It can also include sharing personal or private information about someone else causing them embarrassment or humiliation.

Harassment

In this section following subjects can be reported on:

Feeling alarmed, distressed or intimidated by another person’s comments or actions which creates a hostile, degrading humiliating or offensive environment. You do not have to have objected to these comments in the past. It can include repeated attempts to impose unwanted communications and contact that could be expected to cause distress or fear in any reasonable person. 

Bullying 

In this section following subjects can be reported on:

Behaviour that is intended to hurt you either emotionally or physically, which can include physical assault, teasing or name calling, making threats or damage to property.

Bullying can be defined as offensive, intimidating, malicious or insulting behaviour, an abuse or misuse of power that undermines, humiliates, denigrates or injures the recipient emotionally or physically. 

Racial Abuse

In this section following subjects can be reported on:

An act, crime or action that you believe was motivated by hostility or prejudice specifically because of your race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin.

Drug Misuse

In this section following subjects can be reported on:

Dependency on a drug which is becoming a central part of life, leading to a physical or psychological dependency which is affecting work or studies. You can also use this option if you suspect that someone is involved in buying or selling substances.

Alcohol Misuse

In this section following subjects can be reported on:

Dependency on alcohol which is becoming a central part of life, leading to a physical or psychological dependency and is affecting work or studies.

Campus Watch 

In this section following subjects can be reported on:

Use this option to report any damage or issues inside the University buildings or around the campus.

Mental Ill Health

In this section following subjects can be reported on:

Health issues which are affecting your mood, thinking or behaviour. This can include, but is not limited to, work or study stress, depression, anxiety, eating disorders and addictive behaviours.

Discrimination 

In this section following subjects can be reported on:

Treating someone less favourably than another person because of an actual or perceived characteristic, for example, age, race, gender, sexuality, family status, religion, marital status, medical history etc.

Victimisation 

In this section following subjects can be reported on:

The action of being singled out for cruel or unjust treatment, because you have raised a complaint, concern or reported a crime or event.

Theft 

In this section following subjects can be reported on:

Dishonest or unauthorised taking, using or keeping of another person’s property.
