Real time reporting functionality is key to enabling the user to cease to be a victim and begin to regain control at a time when they are likely to be feeling vulnerable.

It’s Ok to Say has been tailored to be accessible for all students and staff, it utilises photography, geo-tagging, tick boxes and free text. With questions developed in line with ACAS research into comprehensive definitions and extensive testing in a real student environment.

In its simplest form the App can be used as a referencing resource to help users quickly determine whether incidents are considered reportable to both the university and/or the police. This can be done without submitting a report

Unlike other products on the market, the reporting path for the various issues varies depending on the nature of the incident which makes the process significantly more comprehensive and efficient. Secondly it substantiates that their experienced is considered to be an issue will be treated as such by their university and the authorities.

For the university and the authorities, it ensures that the key words or phrases needed to deal with the incident appropriately are stated enabling follow up investigation can be more efficient.

The app enables students and staff to report anonymously or to be identified. This aspect enables students to report incidents concerning themselves or peers without risk of repercussion.   

The apps key function is to enable the university to be at the centre of support structure for welfare, enabling real-time information to be delivered instantly to the relevant people. It is not a replacement for the police, trained professionals or pastoral service, who are still required to follow up with support for those affected.
